The Playmate Turned Business Woman
By: Danny Stewart Brande Roderick represents what is becoming the leading and driving force in Hollywood; The Business Woman. What Brande is most notably known for is her acting career and being Playboy’s 2001 Playmate of the Year. She has starred in many television and movie titles from Baywatch to the 2006 remake of Starsky and Hutch, and her latest endeavor; Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice Season 2 set to air sometime after the New Year.
In the Apprentice Brande hopes to introduce to the world what she is most proud of her philanthropist work. Any given Sunday you can find Brande and her husband Glenn Cadrez (former NFL player) taking a group of less fortunate children to A San Diego Charger’s Game on behalf of California Police Youth Charity (CYPC). “These are children whom never been to an NFL game and they are not only here for the 1st time, but they are meeting the players, getting autographs, and just smiling” says Brande.
Brande the business woman started her first company in 2000 which was a television production company called She-Ra Productions. Since then Brande has been involved with many more companies and projects. Her newest venture is Financially Hung, Inc. where she sits as CEO and majority owner.
Under the Guidance of Brande Roderick Financially Hung is taking the idea of business networking, online social sites, and celebrity red carpet events and combining them all to create the ultimate experience. Financially Hung is a private membership company for business professionals that offers an online networking site (http://www.financiallyhung.com) where you can meet other business individuals who are looking to expand their contacts and their businesses. Brande realized that Financially Hung has to be more than just another social site or networking club. “We have to stand out more so than our name, so we are taking our members on the red carpet…literally,” explains Brande.
Brande and Financially Hung now host some of the biggest and most posh red carpet events in cities such as Beverly Hills, Hollywood, San Diego, Las Vegas and more. The best part is you as a member have the opportunity to attend these events and meet Brande and all her celebrity friends in person. Brande calls it networking at its finest where “sometimes it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” Financially Hung is currently in full swing planning their biggest party of the year, Game Day at the Playboy Mansion (for more details go to http://www.gamedayattheplayboymansion.com) that also benefits CPYC. The event draws a large celebrity crowd with acts like Bret Michaels of Poison and Vh1’s Rock of Love performing live.
With Financially Hung growing in popularity and size Brande is taking the company to the next level with a full clothing line for the company set to release right before Christmas aimed at both men and women. Brande says, “The clothing line will combine the latest trends in the fashion industry and a Financially Hung flare.” The clothing will first be available exclusively at financiallyhung.com and will soon begin to make appearances at department stores.
Brande Roderick is a true work horse who not only aims to keep growing both her acting career and her businesses, but also help those in need along the way. There is no stop in sight for her as she represents The Business Woman.

Her stint on Celebrity Apprentice made it pretty clear that the she is no dumb blonde. Now, in her first book, Bounce Don’t Break, Roderick shares the tips of the trade she’s learned along the way, and encourages women everywhere not to let self-doubt stand in the way of their success. The book contains a compendium of tips on how to maximize your assets and acknowledge your faults, emphasizing hard work, self-reliance, courage and entrepreneurial fortitude. Bounce Don’t Break is published by Running Press, and was written in collaboration with Liz Topp.
